Jesus, the true vine

Day 4 Romans 5 v 1 - 5; James 1 v 2 - 8; 2 Peter 1 v 3 - 11
After reading today’s passages, and being a little overwhelmed, I would just like to reiterate the following:
“…tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint.” (Rom 5 v 3 – 5)
We need to praise God just as much during our trials and tribulations as we would do when we prosper in our personal life, work and relationships. We should remain faithful to our Lord Jesus, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for we have been justified through His sacrifice on the cross.
“…the testing of your faith, produces endurance” (Jam 1 v 3)
If there is one thing we can ask for boldly and with confidence in the Lord’s Name and expect to receive it, it is WISDOM. The wisdom that is required to make the right decisions when our faith is tested.
“Now for this reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.” (2 Pet 1 v 5 – 7)
Should we continue to practice and excel in the above, we will not stumble and fall before entering the everlasting kingdom of God.
You may ask if the above is possible without seeking God’s forgiveness and accepting Jesus’ atonement for our sins. The answer is a simple no. Jesus is the key, always has been and always will be.
He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father, but through Him. He has given us the opportunity to reconcile with God and only through putting your faith in Him can we be saved from our sinful nature. If Jesus is your Lord, continue to serve Him diligently.
If you have not had an encounter with Him. Do not let another day go by, for we do not know what tomorrow brings. Call upon His Name, for He is King of kings and Lord of lords and the only way to receive eternal life.
